Saint Paul Mountain Farms is a working farm in Henderson County. Their fruit is used in the production of wines, ciders and spirits. They offer 3 locations to satisfy anyone’s taste . Saint Paul Vineyards and tasting room offers tastings of your choice all while enjoying breathtaking views. The land has been in the Ward family for 9 generations. We visited the vineyard over Memorial Day. The tastings come in semi-sweet, dry and staff favorites. The vineyard also offers food pairings, classes and hosts special events. I enjoyed all the whites, but my favorite was the Vidal Blanc. The vineyard provides ample room to spread out and enjoy music, friends and a glass of wine. If cider is your thing then Appalachian Ridge Hard Cider is the place for you. The owners use the “cider as wine” approach which relies heavily on allowing apples to develop their flavors. A final location to taste their wine is Saint Paul at Flat Rock. This tasting room is intimate and the perfect place to meet up with friends and only a short walk from restaurants. If you have a group going to the area be sure to check out their on site property for your overnight stay. Regardless of your preference Saint Paul is definitely worth the trip to the area.
