Christmas mornings are meant to be enjoyed and savored. Let’s put down our phones and live in the moment this year. Christmas morning brunch doesn’t have to be hectic. We have created a menu that can be put together days before and baked as you enjoy a cup of coffee. I love to sit in the living room and soak in the warm tree lights.
We start off with our breakfast casserole that can be prepared up to 2 days ahead and kept in the refrigerator. It is easy to customize this dish to suit even the pickiest of eaters. I like to sneak in colorful vegetables. Cheese is the key. Take the time to grate your own cheese. It is worth it.
Next, we like caramel french toast. It also can be made ahead of time and is perfect to add something sweet.
If you didn’t include breakfast meat in your casserole you can add sausage, bacon, or a plant-based option. Beyond Meat makes a tasty plant-based sausage patty. We typically use turkey bacon.
Next, we like to include some type of bread. Bagels and cream cheese, biscuits, or toast and jelly are our go-to options.
Our final dish is fruit. No need to worry if you can’t find adequate produce, pick up a bag of frozen fruit and allow it to thaw while you cook the other dishes.
The key to a stress-free Christmas morning is having the dishes prepared and ready to cook. Christmas morning should be spent cherishing our friends and family. Put away the phones and relish the people you love.
